Teaser {Harley}

I met Jeri and Harley out at Peenaquim for a very fun morning. Harley was the perfect model. He wouldn't strike a pose for long so I had to be quick but thankfully, he offered me lots of opportunities.

We ran into Eddie yesterday at the dog park.

I knew him when he was just a baby.

He hasn't exactly grown into his ears.

But just look at those muscles! He is in great shape.

These two sisters were so much fun to photograph.

Zing is a border collie/staffordshire terrier (aka border staffie) mix. She is a powerhouse packed into a beautiful and lithe body. She has the tongue and friendliness of a staffie (i.e. is always licking you) but the speed, agility and brains of a border collie.

She is also a typical little sister who just wants to follow her big sister Taylor everywhere she goes.

Taylor is pure border collie - in breeding and in spirit. She was very focused on her toy and her mom.

She also knows how to make an impression.

Teaser {Zing and Taylor}

I met Pat again this morning to photograph two of her other dogs. She has a few. :)

Today I had the pleasure of meeting Zing, a cute border staffie and seeing Taylor, a red and white border collie, again. Zing idolizes Taylor and would follow her over a cliff if that is where Taylor decided to go. The only way to get photos of them separately was to leash one of them.

More pictures to come in the next day or two.

Lots of Moxie

I think Moxie's name, fits her to a T.

Definition:

Moxie - noun  

vigor, verve, pep

This girl only stood still when waiting for the toy to be thrown and even then you could feel the energy radiating from her.

One of my favourite things about watching dogs run is that you can tell that they are doing something that they LOVE to do.

Teaser - {Moxie}

I met Moxie and Pat this morning for a photo session down at Popson. Moxie was the perfect model. This is hands down, my favourite picture from the morning. I think it captures her intensity, athleticism and sense of fun. More to come soon.

Popson Park

Popson Park is one of my favourite places to take pictures of dogs. As it is an off leash park, dogs can run freely there. I think it is the least busy of the dog parks (the fact that you are sharing the space with rattlesnakes might be a reason for that!), it is next to the river so the dogs can swim, there is a mix of natural grasses and mowed areas (which are great if you have a short dog and are trying to get pictures) and if you are feeling energetic you can even climb the coulees.

At this time of year there are lots of flowers in bloom. I am sure lots of them are weeds, but their colour can still add to the beauty of a photo.

I'll be heading out there again tomorrow morning to meet Moxie, the red and white border collie that won the photo contest a few months ago. I can't wait. I just hope I can keep up with her!
